Vangent Radical Web Improvement Programme Receives Exemplary Honours for Outstanding Contribution to Digital Inclusion
27th June 2011
In partnership with Southwark Council, Vangent, a global leader in high-impact information management, strategic business process outsourcing,
and human capital solutions has received a honorary plaque at the recent charity event: the National Digital Leaders Ceremony.
The 2011 National Digital Leaders Ceremony celebrated the achievement of some of the most outstanding projects contributing to Digital Inclusion.
On the evening itself, a host of government officials; leading industry figures and many private and third sector organisations assembled to mark a
range of monumental achievement to Digital Inclusion over the past year.
Vangent worked closely with its long standing client, Southwark Council, to completely overhaul the Council’s digital channel by developing an easy to
use, cost-effective website that dramatically simplifies how citizens interact with the council. This ground breaking project was acknowledged at the
Digital Leaders Ceremony since it demonstrated Vangent’s innovative approach to seamlessly transform government services whilst placing the citizen at
the heart of the programme.
Since going live, the new digital channel received remarkable feedback from council staff and customers. Following success of the project, Southwark Council’s
website has now been listed by The Society of IT Management (SOCITM) as one of just a handful of councils in the UK to achieve a rating of ”Very Good‟, ranking
Southwark Council in the top 3% of Local Authorities.
After collecting the plaque on the night, Nigel Rourke, Director at Vangent, said: “It’s pleasing to receive this plaque, which is another reminder of how
effective partnerships between public and private sector deliver meaningful outcomes for the cohorts that we serve”.
