expands service offerings to better serve government,
to better serve commercial and international customers
Launches New Website to Showcase Company’s Leadership, Creativity and Innovation
9th March 2007
Pearson Government Solutions today announced that its sale from Pearson plc to Veritas Capital has officially closed. In conjunction with the close, the company changed its name to Vangent Limited and expanded its offerings to better serve its customers with new services and products
Under the terms of the agreement, Pearson plc was paid $600 million and, as part of the agreement, will retain an interest of approximately 10% in Vangent. Vangent will retain its existing operating structure. The present leadership team will remain intact, and Mac Curtis will continue to serve as chief executive officer. The company will maintain its UK headquarters in London and other operations in South Yorkshire.
As a stand-alone company, Vangent is better positioned to provide the same high-quality solutions that customers have grown to expect over the past 50 years, while expanding its services and solutions to bring an even more robust offering to the government, commercial and international marketplaces.
We are entering into an exciting new period of our company’s successful history,” said Vangent President and Chief Executive Officer Mac Curtis. “ Our status as a stand-alone entity, with owners that are committed to our success, allows us to target new opportunities in the marketplace and invest in new solutions and services in a much more aggressive way.”
The name Vangent – a convergence of the words “vanguard” and “ cogent” – signifies the leadership, vision and compelling solutions the company brings to its core offerings: consulting, systems integration, human capital management and business process outsourcing services.
“What sets us apart is not only our depth and breadth of capabilities, but also our in-depth understanding of our customers and the unique challenges they face,” added Curtis. “As the demand for innovative solutions continues to grow, Vangent is at the forefront in designing, building and operating end-to-end mission-critical systems and processes that deliver real business value to our customers.”
To showcase the company’s leadership, creativity and innovation, Vangent launched a new website, www.vangent.com. The new website integrates the global resources, capabilities and expertise of the former businesses, including Pearson Government Solutions, Pearson Analytic Solutions, Pearson Blueprint Technologies and Pearson Performance Solutions.
“Our new website will make it easier for customers to learn more about the depth and breadth of our capabilities,” said Curtis. “Vangent is all about taking customers’ most complex challenges and providing balanced solutions that deliver exceptional results at a predictable cost. That’s why our website’s homepage proclaims, ‘Solving our customers’ toughest challenges – that’s what we do!’”
