One Touch Gov Receives Global Recognition

13th January 2009

Vangent continues to lead the way with innovation in transforming government service delivery, as it receives two more awards and further recognition for its outstanding One Touch Gov solution.

One Touch Gov in partnership with London Borough of Southwark, offers a truly enhanced customer service experience when citizens contact their local council. The sophisticated solution offers a whole host of services beyond the citizen’s original purpose of call, as well as reducing the costs of service delivery. In one interaction multiple services can be completed including council tax registration, application for housing and council tax benefits, school meals, children’s clothes, parking permits, library cards and electoral registration.

Vangent has received the most sought after achievement in the UK Information Technology market place for the One Touch Gov solution. The Computing Award for the Public Sector Project was presented to Vangent commending its highly innovative use of IT to enhance the delivery of public sector services.

Global recognition for Vangent’s One Touch Gov solution has also been achieved. Vangent are the first UK company to be awarded the prestigious Adobe MAX Award as global winners in the ‘Public Sector’ category. The award recognises the best use of Adobe technology to create engaging experiences with innovative and exceptional software solutions. The awards attracted over 730 entries from some of the world’s largest and most innovative organisations, including runner-up NASA, many of whom presented to the judges in San Francisco.

The recognition does not stop there; One Touch Gov has also been selected for Editor’s Choice case study for euPractice.eu; and the European Commission has commended the solution as one of the UK's Flagships for Administrative Burden Reduction. One Touch Gov has been recognised as a project of outstanding quality and Vangent aims to demonstrate the solution to the European Community at the Ministerial eGovernment Conference in Malmo, Sweden later this year.
