
UK Carrier Pre-Selection Order Management Service
In order to support Carrier Pre-Selection, the UK industry produced two key documents in August, 2000 – the industry end-to-end process and the IT automation. Both defined how any carrier wishing to offer CPS to customers would have to interface with the existing Access Operator (that is, with BT).It was clear that all carriers would have to spend money on system development effectively to invent the same wheel. At Vangent, we took the industry documentation and built our own CPS Portal into which carriers could feed transactions. These would then be validated and then formatted before being sent to BT. The portal would manage all the return flows to BT and route data onward, as required, to the carriers’ own internal CRM and billing systems.
The Vangent CPS Portal additionally provides a comprehensive reporting suite enabling users, large and small, to track in real time the state of their CPS transaction request.
Vangent’s CPS service has been running now since the industry launch in December 2000. Our service supports 10 carriers and over 200 resellers, and we have processed over 750,000 CPS set-up transactions.
